据可靠消息，Internet Explorer 7又有了新的动向，在运行平台方面，原先透露出在Windows XP以下平台运行的消息已经被确认为假消息。除了正在主推的XP SP2以外，IE 7瞄准的将是Windows Server 2003 SP1与Windows XP Pro 64bit Version。除此之外，又有一个爆炸性消息，陪伴IE数年的最基本组件Outlook Express将被切割。在IDF上，Microsoft的二把手Jim Allchin明确表示近期会发布Intel x64平台的相关产品。

　　“In about a month， you will see us deliver the x64 edition of our server product， and after that you will see us， during the same month， deliver the 64-bit x64 edition for [Intel's] Xeon and Pentium on the workstation side。”
